In Conclusion...
Politics are a key component in all conflicts that touch a large portion of a population. This is no different in the case of the Darfur genocide. Indeed, the rise to power of Omar al-Bashir has caused an amplification of tensions between Darfuri tribes. Politics also come into play with globalization, in which case governments from different countries get involved into the conflict, like Chad, Russia or China, as well as countries amongst the United Nations. Politics are at the source of what is currently happening in Darfur, with Omar al-Bashir’s government and his affiliation with the Janjaweed, so it is possible that the solution is hiding in a political decision or a restructuration of Darfur political system. Either way, change cannot come soon enough for Sudan, for too many lives have been already lost and too many civilians have been already tortured.
